Hailsham in the 1800s

We spent our Christmas looking at old maps of the farm and surrounding areas. It is fascinating how the ancient forest and what is now the A22 is on the map but all the farmland around it that is now either housing or industrial estates. It shows how much development has happened around our site. We are bringing back piggies this year which our land was originally farmed. When we took it over, it had been used for cattle previously, and while we would love cows, I think sticking with goats piggies and sheep are enough for us!
